RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army on Saturday said that it received 12 terrorism cases from the Interior Ministry to be tried in the military courts.
Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Saleem Asim Bajwa in a tweet said that initially 12 cases had been assigned to military courts and consequently legal process had started.
He said that these cases were forwarded by provincial apex committees to Interior Minister after thorough scrutiny.
He further said that the cases were then sent to Pakistan Army for trial in the military courts.

Pakistan has established military courts in line with the 20-point National Action Plan (NAP) finalised by the political and military leadership of the country. In the initial phase, Pakistan Army established nine military courts to deal with terrorism cases across the country.

Three courts each have been established in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab while two courts in Sindh and one court in Balochistan.
