WELLINGTON: With 14 days remaining in World Cup 2015, Pakistan is all set to face New Zealand in this two-match One Day International series.
Pakistan suffered back-to-back defeats against a New Zealand Board President’s XI, and now ready to face New Zealand side who defeated Sri Lanka in recent ODI series while defeated the Green Shirts as well in five -match series in UAE.
Now both team ready to face each other in two-match ODI series just before the mega event.
Pakistan will play without their main stream bowlers Junaid Khan and Saeed Ajmal.
But even with a slightly experimental bowling attack, they would still have expected to put away a selection of up-and-coming Kiwis with ease.
Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq looks to be in good form, having scored 255 runs in his last four innings, while Umar Akmal’s back-to-back half-centuries were full of swash-buckling shots.
Mitchell McClenaghan and Corey Anderson took 19 wickets between them in that series and look set to provide excellent back-up to the experienced Tim Southee and Trent Boult in the World Cup.
