Pakistani High Commissioner to India meets PM

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit on Wednesday called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad.

The High Commissioner briefed the Prime Minister about the current status of Pakistan-India relations.

Abdul Basit also informed the PM about the recent visit of United States President Barack Obama to India.

The PM said Pakistan wants good relations with all countries, including India, and for achievement of peace in the region it is necessary for both India and Pakistan to resolve outstanding disputes, including that of Kashmir.

The PM reiterated that Pakistan wants normal relations with India on equal and mutual respect basis.

The premier said that India is an important country for Pakistan.
