NEW DELHI: The Aam Admi Party (AAP) headed by Arvind Kejriwal is being supported by the lowest strata of the society in its ongoing elections campaign for state elections of Delhi.
As the party is campaigning for the upcoming elections and raising fund for the purpose, Arvind Kejriwal was donated a ‘token’ five rupees by a beggar near Ghazipur crossing in the capital, indian media said.
Kejriwal burst into tears after the donation. The beggar while donating the money to the AAP chief said that beggars and poor of the country trust him.
An emotional Kejriwal took the Twitter route to let the world know about the incident.
Lately, the Aam Aadmi Party has been organizing a lot of fund-raising programmes in various parts of Delhi and Mumbai in order to get proper funding for the elections. With the parties like BJP or Congress pumping in a lot of money in campaigning for the Delhi polls, the AAP leaders are also taking different initiatives to pull in required funds.
