PM assures Shahbaz to overcome petroleum crisis in Punjab in next two days

LAHORE: Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has assured Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif to overcome shortage of petroleum products in Punjab in next 48 hours.

PM said the responsible of crisis would be held accountable. Meanwhile Prim Minister has summoned Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar in Lahore immediately to discuss the crisis.
PM has also summoned meeting of finance and petroleum ministries (Monday) to discuss the crisis. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that if even any minister was found involved in the prevailing petrol crisis in Punjab, action would be taken against him.

The prime minister expressed these views while meeting Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif at Jati Umra in Lahore.
During the meeting, the prime minister assured the chief minister of complete inquiry into the crisis and action against the persons found responsible for petrol shortage in the province.
Shahbaz, on the occasion, said that inquiry should also be carried out to find out as to why the crisis only hit Punjab province. Shahbaz said there is no crisis in other provinces but there is shortage of petroleum products in Punjab. Chief minister said that the people of Punjab are facing severe kind of difficulties due to shortage of petroleum products.
Prime minister directed the petroleum ministry officials to bring shipments of oil and this should be provided to refineries so that the problem in country could be overcome. Prime minister has also summoned report from officials of all provinces regarding the availability of petroleum products (Monday).
Over implementation of national action plan, the prime minister said that all political parties need to unite on the country’s war against terrorism.
Exchanging views on the political situation, the premier and CM Shahbaz agreed to resolve differences with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also telephoned Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and summoned the joint meeting of Ministry of Petroleum  (Monday).
Prime minister directed Ishaq Dar to take measures to immediately resolve the petrol crisis.
The premier has ordered an inquiry that will probe the role of the Ministry of Petroleum, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), Pakistan State Oil (PSO) as well as other private petroleum companies in the acute fuel shortage in the populous province.
