Petrol crisis takes four more days: high level meeting told

ISLAMABAD: A high level meeting in chair of Petroleum Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has been briefed that petroleum crisis in the country could not end before four days, Express News reported.

The meeting was attended by petroleum advisor, Oil Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) chairman, and representatives of oil marketing companies.

All the stake holders attended the meeting despite weekend.

The meeting was also briefed that petrol consumption in the country has been increased three times.

Marketing companies could not end four days interval and oil ship will arrive in the country on January 24.

It is also pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has convened high level meeting on Monday (tomorrow) to discuss petrol crisis.

People of the country mostly province of Punjab have been facing shortage of petrol for six days.

It is pertinent to mention here that on Saturday Prime Minister (PM) had taken notice of petrol crisis in the country and ordered suspension of four government officials stating to be involved in petrol crisis.

The PM has suspended secretary petroleum Abid Saeed, additional secretary petroleum Naeem Malik, Director General (DG) Oil and Managing Director (MD) Pakistan State Oil (PSO) Amjad Janjua.
