KARACHI: A person reportedly named as Shahbaz entered level-one zone of the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi despite high security alerts announced by the government.
Shahbaz equipped with ‘licensed weapon’ travelling in his double cabin vehicle entered the highest security zone of the Karachi airport after declaring clear from the first check post, Express News reported on Sunday.
Despite high security arrangements, the person made entry in the level-one zone where even senior security officers including Inspector General Sindh Police and other protocol officers were not allowed to enter along with their weapons.
However, Airport Security Forces (ASF) seized weapon from his possession and later handed over to local police station for further investigation.
It should be mentioned here that Pakistan imposed high security arrangements on governmental and military installments, as well as important institutions including airports following terror threats increased after horrific school incident in Peshawar.
