ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan’s new wife Reham Khan said she had been a victim of domestic violence while married to 54-year-old psychiatrist Dr Ijaz Rehman.
According to Daily Mail, Reham opened up about her previous marriage in a TV interview recently.
She said, “‘Thanks to Allah, I am not scarred by my experience. Domestic violence is a big issue and no attention is paid to it in Pakistan. [It] happens in many shapes and forms.”
Reham said that she has never spoken about her personal experience of domestic violence because she was in the media and she felt it would be unfair to expose the other party.
Her first marriage ended up in 2006 after 15 years.
Reham said her first marriage was such a horrendous experience.
