PCB extends central contracts of 33 players

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has extended central contracts of 33 players which also include Yasir Shah and Sohail Khan, local media reported on Wednesday.

Leg-breaker Yasir Shah and Right-arm medium-fast Sohail Khan were also recently given central contracts amongst 33 Pakistani players. It is noteworthy to mention here that Yasir Shah and Sohail Khan were also included in the 15-member squad announced for upcoming World Cup 2015.

Pakistan’s World Cup Squad: Misbah-ul-Haq (Skipepr), Shahid Afridi, Mohammad Hafeez, Ahmed Shahzad, Sarfraz Ahmed, Haris Sohail, Mohmmad Irfan, Yasir Shah, Sohail Khan, Ahsan Adil, Junaid Khan, Sohaib Maqsood, Umar Akmal, Younis Khan, Wahab Riaz.

The extension was made in the central contracts for the calendar year 2014 to 31 players excluding Yasir and Sohail that was distributed in four categories in accordance to the player’s ‘fitness level, future potential, form and performance’.

Category ‘A’

Misbah-ul-Haq, Mohammad Hafeez, Saeed Ajmal, Shahid Afridi and Junaid Khan.

Category ‘B’

Younis Khan, Ahmed Shehzad, Umar Akmal and Umar Gul.

Category ‘C’

Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Adnan Akmal, Khurram Manzoor, Nasir Jamshed and Abdul Rehman.

Category ‘D’

Sohaib Maqsood, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Bilawal Bhatti, Sharjeel Khan, Zulfiqar Babar, Fawad Alam, Ehsan Adil, Mohammad Irfan, Wahab Riaz, Raza Hasan, Umar Amin, Harris Sohail, Rahat Ali, Shaan Masood, Mohammad Talha, Anwar Ali, Yasir Shah and Sohail Khan.
