Medical students banned for ‘private practices’ in KP

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government approved Medical Teaching Institutions Reformation Bill 2015 on Tuesday (today), banning private practicing of junior medicos.

Junior doctors have been banned to continue practices in private hospitals in accordance to the Medical Teaching Institutions Reformation Bill 2015 passed by the KP Assembly today.

According to the bill, the ban will also be imposed on the medical students who passed out their examinations from government institutions.

KP government also announced to provide adequate facilities to the junior doctors to continue practicising in government hospitals. The move was adopted for provision of better medical facilities to the masses.

Violators of the newly passed bill would face penalties in shape of salaries suspension by the KP government.

Meanwhile, KP govt reportedly sought government doctors’ response over the bill who opposed the decision for banning medical practices in private hospitals.
