ISLAMABAD: The standing committee for defence in the National Assembly on Monday informed that more than 2,000 terrorists were killed during ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb in tribal agency North Waziristan.
The standing committee meeting was chaired by Rohail Asghar held in Islamabad which was briefed regarding developments of ongoing military operation in the militant-held tribal part of the country.
According to report, more than 2,000 terrorists were successfully targeted by the troops while the operation was going ahead with consecutive achievements in the battle against terrorism.
At least three security officers and 199 soldiers were martyred while fighting against terrorists, the committee told. The committee members was also briefed about future plans; revealing that the country now going to start ground operation in Shawwal and other terrain areas of the agency.
Rohail Asghar told committee that whole nation, political leadership were standing in support of Pakistan military now engaged in fights to root out terrorism in the country.
