Selectors ready for World Cup 2015 surprise team without Ajmal

KARACHI: Pakistani selectors have started finalising the 15-men squad for upcoming International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup 2015 starting from February 14.

According to reports, selectors are looking forward to include Yasir Shah as a surprise package for the World Cup along with Shahid Afridi who has announced his retirement from this format of cricket after 2015 tournament.

On the other hand middle order batsman Sohaib Maqsood and left arm fast bowler Junaid Khan will be under observation in Multan’s pent-angular cup where selectors will check their fitness levels before making any decision about their selection.

 Saeed Ajmal might not be  part of 2015 World Cup squad while the squad will be announced after pent-angular cup as well as squad for two One-day matches will also be announced after the domestic tournament.

The selectors have decided to give rest to Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, Younis Khan, Asad Shahfiq, Ahmed Shahzad, Wicket-keeper batsman Sarfarz Ahmed and spinner Zulfiqar Barbar.

Yashir Shah who was the part of last three One-Day squads against New Zealand but unable to made it to playing eleven.

Sources said that he was not included in the team because, Waqar Younis and Misbah-ul-Haq want to introduce him in the World Cup as a surprise package.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also announced to take fitness test on December 26 and 27.
