Ramiz Raja raises valid questions over Ajmal’s World Cup induction

DUBAI: Former skipper and legendary batsman Ramiz Raja has raised some valid questions over banned spinner Saeed Ajmal’s induction in the team for World Cup if he clear ICC bowling action review.

Famous commentators Ramiz Raja said in an interview that he has a little meeting with Saeed Ajmal after bowler was unable to clear the test in London.

He said that Saeed Ajmal told him that his action improved allot but his bowling speed was down to 80 mph which was 90 mph before his action was changed.

Raja further said that Ajmal further told him that bowlers Doosra was still out of limit set by International Cricket Council (ICC).

Ajmal also told him that due to change in bowling action his regular off-spin was not turning much as in his previous bowling action, Ramiz added.

Former cricket raised question to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and selectors that If Ajmal clear ICC test, is this is right to include Ajmal in playing eleven in World Cup despite Ajmal’s slow pace, lack of turn and specially his weapon Doosra.

He suggested that Board should look at the realties and also try to find replacement of Ajmal or if Ajmal clear ICC’s teat along with doosra delivery so he still required to play first-class cricket as much as possible.
