PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Thursday announced to hold local bodies election in the province in April, taking a lead over Punjab and Sindh provinces where Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People Party (PPP) are in power.
KP Chief Minister Pervez Kattak announced that the provincial government had completed arrangements for holding local bodies elections in the province and had already conveyed the same to the Election Commission of Pakistan.
He said that KP government will hold the elections in April 2015. He said that KP local governments law was far better than the laws enacted in other provinces.
Khattak also opposed construction of Kalabagh Dam, saying that if the proponent of the dam convinced him about its utility the he would convince the opponent of the dam.
