Several hundred Kgs of donkey meat impounded in Pakistan

KHUSHAB: Police on Wednesday impounded several hundred kilograms of donkey meat which was to be sold to consumers here.

The police team raided a place where several donkeys, the meat of which is ‘haram’ for eating in Islam, were being slaughtered.

Following the raid culprits fled the area but the police managed to impound up to 20 maunds (around 800 kgs) of donkey meat.

Sources said that there are no registered slaughter houses in the area, adding due to lack of any government vigilance this dirty practice is rampant in several areas. A private TV channel reported on Wednesday.
