Mohammad Amir’s return to international cricket hits snags

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman  Shehryar Khan has acknowledged that some of the national team players are reluctant to play along with tainted fast bowler Mohammad Amir.

“Yes, the impression that some of the national team players are reluctant to play along with Mohammad Amir, tainted for spot-fixing  is correct,” Shehryar Khan said while responding a question of the host of a programme on private Geo News television.

The PCB chairman revealed that  Naveed Akram Cheema was a strong contender for the manager’s post for the World Cup 2015.

When asked about the reservation of players over Amir’s inclusion in the team, PCB chief said that he was not concerned by the players opinions and he would see what needs to be done as per requirement of team’s and game’s interests.

It is to be mentioned here that recently the International Cricket Council has paved the way for Amir’s return to international cricket by approving amendments to its revised anti-corruption code.
