ICC dashes Amir’s hopes of immediate return to cricket

DUBAI:  International Cricket Council (ICC) has ruled out the immediate return of banned pacer Mohammad Amir to international cricket, local media reports said.

According to the reports, Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) letter to ICC for allowing Amir to start domestic cricket was received by ICC officials.

The ICC while reacting to PCB’s letter said that the immediate return of the tainted player to cricket was out of question, as he has to go through lengthy process and many phases involving several sessions and interviews.

Earlier, ICCI approved changes to its anti-corruption code, allowing banned players to return to domestic cricket before the end of their penalty if they meet certain criteria.
