ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar on Tuesday urged government to resolve issues related to the appointment of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) as soon as possible.
High-level session is underway in Islamabad under chair of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in order to discuss national issues.
PM Nawaz Sharif took confidence of the high-level officials in the meeting regarding SAARC conference and exchanged views on the political situation of Pakistan.
During the meeting, Chaudhry Nisar provided briefing on national security, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and also urged government to appoint CEC soon.
Anti-government march on November 30 announced by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the federal capital Islamabad was also discussed in the meeting.
The meeting concluded with significant decisions taken in the meeting including provision of more facilities to the IDPs and restoration of contacts with opposition for CEC appointment.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of Finance Ishaq Dar, Minister of Interior Chaudhry Nisar and representatives of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA).
