International Day for Tolerance today

ISLAMABAD: The United Nations (UN) is observing the ‘International Day’ for Tolerance in Pakistan as elsewhere in the world on Sunday, November 16.

The day aims to educate people about the need for tolerance in society. It also helps them understand the negative effects of intolerance.

In 1996, the UN General Assembly (by resolution 51/95) invited UN Member States to observe the International Day for Tolerance on 16 November, with activities directed towards both educational establishments and the wider public.
