MOHALI: Cape Cobras defeated Barbados Tridents by 1 run in the super over of Champions League Twenty 20 (CLT20) played at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium.
Barbados failed to make 12 runs in the super over. Jonathan Carter scored 9, while Dilshan Munaweera scored 1 run for the Tridents.
Cape Cobras scored 11 runs without losing any wicket. Dane Vilas scored 9, while Richard Levi scored 1.
Earlier, Cobras chasing down the huge total of 175 runs got the brilliant start, as openers manage to put on 56 for first wicket.
Richard Levi after scoring quick 39 lost his wicket while Hashim Amla scored 59 runs. Cobras required 13 runs in last over only mange to draw on last bowl of the innings.
Jeeven Mandis took 4 wickets for Barbados Tridents.
Tridents after losing couple of wickets early in the innings manage to score respectable total of 174 runs in their 20 overs.
Jonathan Carter played an outstanding knock of 111 runs while Dilshan Munaweera scored 42 runs to guide the team total to 174 runs on loss of 8 wickets.
Sybrand Engelbrecht took 2 wickets for Cape Cobras.
