PTI, PAT not backed by Pakistan Army, ISI: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) clarified that ongoing protests by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) are ‘not backed by Pakistan Army orĀ Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).


ISPR reacted upon the allegations levelled by a Pakistani politician, Javed Hashmi, for provision of military support to protests in Islamabad.

‘Pakistan military is a non-political institution which supported democracy on various occassions,’ ISPR stated on Monday (today).

The statement refuted all allegation; clarified that military have provided unconditional support to democracy in Pakistan.

Military and are not working behind ongoing political crisis in Pakistan while it is unfortunate to involve a non-political institution in political matters.
