LAHORE: A delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) called on Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri at Lahore and discussed with him the prevailing political situation.
The MQM delegation was led by it senior leader Hyder Abbas Rizvi, which met Tahirul Qadri at his residence in Lahore on Friday.
Talking to media after the meeting, Rizvi said that the issue to join Qadri’s purported revolution would be presented before the party’s top decision making body, Rabita Committee, and it would take a decision about it. He said that MQM supported Dr Qadri’s ‘revolutionary’ thinking and MQM was currently seized with deliberations over the revolution.
He said that there were similarities in the thinking of Dr Qadri and MQM chief Altaf Hussain about revolution and like Qadri, Altaf also talked of revolution.
When asked about the Sea View tragedy, Rizvi said that it was yet to be ascertained as to who was responsible for the tragic incident. He said that had there been a local government system in place in Karachi, so many lives would have not been lost.
