TTP commander killed in battle during Zarb-e-Azb operation

MIRANSHAH: Pakistan’s security forces have reportedly grabbed noteworthy results during first phase of Zarb-e-Azb operation in tribal parts as prominent militant commander Umar was killed in a armed clash in North Waziristan.


Pakistan military’s fighter jets bombarded over various militants’ hideouts in the tribal areas of North Waziristan Agency today; killing at least 11 terrorists in the attacks in Mir Ali area, local media reported.

According to reports, banned militant outfit, Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)’s, prominent commander Umar has been killed by the security forces in a clash.

Six hideouts were completely destroyed in the air strikes while the military sources claimed existence of more militants’ hideouts in some parts.

ISPR said that all citizens has been evacuated safely from the being operated tribal areas of the agency.

The security forces have claimed to arrest three terrorists trying to flee en route River Indus while one Al-Qaeda commander was also arrested during the operation.

Earlier on yesterday, DG Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa detailed the ongoing military operation’s milestones before the nation that 327 militants were killed in North Waziristan, while 45 militants’ hideouts were destroyed.
