ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday has issued notices to ARY Chief Executive Salman Iqbal, Anchorperson Mubashir Luqman, Acting Chairperson of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and Secretary Information for contempt of court and ordered them to appear before court in the first week of July.
On Wednesday, IHC has stopped ARY News anchorperson Mubashir Luqman to do any TV talk show as a host.
IHC conducted the hearing of a case against Mubashir Luqman for doing a show against judiciary.
IHC gave verdict that ARY anchorperson Mubashir Luqman is not allowed to do any show on any TV channel until next hearing.
Shohada Foundation Pakistan (SPF) filed a case in IHC against Luqman for doing series of programs against higher judiciary on a private news channel ARY News.
According to SPF, many anchorpersons, especially Luqman, has been doing shows that hurt the integrity, honour, respect and independence of the judicial system of Pakistan.
