QUETTA: Following imposition of travel restrictions on Pakistanis by the World Health Organisation (WHO), the provincial government of Balochistan established polio check-up booths in premises of airports.
The airports included Zhob, Gwadar and an international airport in Quetta where polio drops would be administered to passengers before flying to foreign countries.
Health Secretary of Balochistan Arshad Bugti conducted the inauguration ceremony of the polio booth yesterday established at international airport in provincial capital Quetta, Dawn News reported.
Bugti detailed that 47 permanent transit points were established across the province to scrutinise the children whether they have been polio vaccinated or not.
He said that Balochistan touching the limit to be a polio-free province soon as no polio case were reported during last 22 months.
