KARACHI: Just a day is left in World Health Organization’s imposition of travel restrictions on Pakistani travellers and another case of polio was reported in Karachi on Thursday, which takes the 2014’s total count of polio cases to six.
It should be kept in mind that World Health Organization (WHO) travel restrictions are aimed at preventing the spread of polio virus in the world.
Nazir Khan’s two and a half years old daughter, named Malala, is the new victim of polio in Karachi. Health Department officials have confirmed that the polio virus in Malala.
Provincial health officials are extremely worried as polio cases continue to increase in Karachi while the city was declared polio-free in 2012.
WHO has made it mandatory for Pakistani travellers to show polio certificate at airports and this restriction will be effective from June 1st.
