KARACHI: Rangers’ large scale operation conducted in Ittehad Town area of the port city, local media reported on Thursday.
The operation is being conducted on a tip-off regarding presence of members belonging to banned organisations.
More than 300 hundred Rangers personnel and several lady constables have joined the operation.
Check points have been established on the entry and exit points of Mohammad Khan Colony in Ittehad Town.
The action is being taken a day after a high-level meeting headed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif agreed to continue targeted operation against criminals in Karachi.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that the provincial and federal governments were serious in their efforts to establish peace in Karachi.
The meeting was attended by members of Pakistan Peoples Party, Awami National Party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Army Chief Raheel Sharif and DG Rangers.
