PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced to hold a grand tribal jirga (conference) for the success of current peace dialogue process with government of Pakistan and Taliban.
JI’s FATA chief Sahibzada Haroon Rasheed today announced to hold the traditional jirga for the success o f peace dialogue here in Nishtar Hall Peshawar.
Mr. Rasheed said that the jirga will be held on 1st May 2014.
The traditional meeting will feature government and Taliban nominated committee elders besides tribal elders and religious scholars of the area.
The JI stalwart said that he and other tribal elites are longing for peace in FATA for last 10 years while claiming that FATA is being neglected for years and the current operation has done an irreparable damage to the area.
Rasheed lamented that operation has brought and end to educational, health and communication facilities.
