LAHORE: Well informed sources have reportedly revealed that former Pakistan Test captain and wicketkeeper Moin Khan is most likely to become the chief selector for the national team, after his two months contract as head coach ends.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) think tank comprising Intikhab Alam, Haroon-ur-Rashid, Zakir Khan, Subhan Ahmad will reportedly sit under the chairmanship of Najam Sethi, in an in-house meeting, to take some important decisions.
According to the Dawn, Moin has been invited to attend the meeting and chances are looking bright for him to get the slot of chief selector, which has not been filled in since Test wicketkeeper Rashid Latif refused to accept it.
Latif had to join the PCB as chief selector on April 1 but he reportedly conveyed to the board that he would not accept the post.
The sources said that Sethi wanted to have a younger chief selector, who can regularly visit the venues of matches and they had picked Latif for that purpose, but now Moin can be a suitable choice for the job, the report added.
