Islamabad: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is due to discuss an important issue regarding former military ruler Pervez Musharraf over whether or not be allowed to travel see his ailing mother and get treatment for his own heart ailment.
According to sources, the PM is now confused regarding the issue as in Tuesday’s meeting, a senior leadership of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) seems divided.
A majority of the PML-N leadership opposed Musarraf’s exit from Pakistan as they expected severe criticism from the people of Pakistan and from the media.
But some had the view that he should be allowed to visit his ailing mother.
During the meeting, the PML-N leadership discussed the legal matters of the issue.
The sources further said that, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif met the PM and advised him to allow Musharraf to see his ailing mother.
It is expected that the decision regarding Musharraf’s future would be announced today, the sources added.
