ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) on Thursday has rejected an appeal of Sindh government over Sindh High Court’s (SHC) verdict regarding delimitation for local body (LB) election.
In its verdict, the SC has directed Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to carry out delimitation and announce schedule till November 15.
The SC has instructed provincial governments to complete process of law making and to hold LB election till November 15.
Yesterday, the SC had held responsible the ECP for the delimitations during the hearing various petitions regarding LB election.

The SHC had declared amendments to the Sindh Local Government Act 2013 unconstitutional on December 30, 2013.
A divisional bench of the court made the decision after receiving 10 requests from political parties including Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Jamaat-e-Islami, which termed the amendments to the bill unlawful.
