ISLAMABAD: A lesser known group “Ahrah-ul-Hind” claimed responsibility of armed attack in Islamabad district court on Monday that left 11 people dead.
Eleven people were killed and 25 others injured in a suicide attack at a district court in Islamabad’s sector F-8 in the morning today.
Pakistan’s Islamist rebel group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) categorically denied any involvement in the attack.
TTP spokesperson said that there are some agencies do not want a successful dialogue.
The group Ahrar-ul-Hind says they have no connection with TTP and they will continue such attacks till the imposition of Shariah (Islamic law) in Pakistan.
The group called British media group BBC to claim the attack.
Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences’ (PIMS) Dr Altaf told the media that five of the injured, including three lawyers, were in critical condition. Islamabad Additional Sessions Judge Rafaqat Ahmad Khan Awan and a female lawyer were among the dead.
It must be remembered that Pakistan’s rebellious TTP rebels announced an unconditional ceasefire on Saturday and the attack on Islamabad district court was seen as an attempt to sabotage peace talks between government and TTP.
