RAWALPINDI: Lahore Lions have won Pakistan’s ‘National Twenty 20 cricket’ tournament after beating Faisalabad Wolves by 3 wickets in tournament’s final on Sunday (today).
Muhammad Hafeez led Lahore Lions successfully chased the 131 run target set by rival Faisalabad Wolves in the final match of the tournament and will take the coveted domestic trophy home.
After winning the toss, Wolves decided to bat first and set the target of 131 for Lions to win.
Left handed opener Ali Waqas was the top scorer from Wolves, he made 63 runs off 52 balls with the help of five fours and four sixes. Only other notable contribution came from skipper Misbahul Haq, he made 27 runs off 33 balls.
Left arm pacer Wahab Riaz was the pick of the bowlers from Lions, he took two wickets for just 11 runs in his four overs. Aizaz Cheema and Mohammad Hafeez also took two wickets each.
Lahore Lions batsman Saad Naseem scored 43 runs off 43 balls.
Winning Team was given a 100,000 cheque from the sponsors of the team.
Faisalabad Wolves was headed in the tournament by national side’s Test and ODI captain Misbah-ul-Haq.

Nasir Jamshed was awarded player of the match award
Best batsman of the tournament was given to Younis Khan, who also plays for Pakistan’s national side.
Asad Ali was rewarded as the best bowler of the match.
While today’s ‘Man of the match’ award went to Saad Naseem for scoring 43 runs.
