LAHORE: Anti Corruption Department (ACD) of Punjab has been given under complete authority of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif instead of Governor, after modification in regulations followed by a formal notification.
The provincial anti-corruption department will run completely under directions of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) affiliated Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif.
It is pertinent to inform here, ACD had worked under Governor Punjab but some amendments were made in 80s for its transfer into hands of CM Punjab.
However, the amendments were not implemented as the modifications were not registered in Punjab Gazette.
Due to the inaccuracy in law, last Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government, it’s then Governor Punjab Latif Khosa had restricted ACD to work on his orders.
Higher authorities had released orders to add amendments in Punjab gazette.
