Pakistan’s former military ruler Pervez Musharraf failed on Friday to appear before a special court, hearing high treason case against him.
On Jan 31, a three-judge bench of the court had issued bailable arrest warrant for Musharraf as he repeatedly failed to appear before it.
The bench headed by Justice Faisal Arab resumed the hearing but Musharraf failed to appear before the court.
During the hearing today, Musharraf’s lawyers requested the bench not to issue directives before pronouncing any decision on the former president’s plea for exemption from personal appearance and other miscellaneous petitions.
The court, accepting the plea of Musharraf’s counsels, ordered the former army chief to appear before it on February 18.
Later, the bench set the next hearing in the case for February 10.
