Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’s Freedom Cry will be released as a standalone title, the developer Ubisoft has announced.
We heard last week that claims over Ubisoft having planned the ending of the Assassin’s Creed franchise are “not exactly true,” according to one of the series’ writers.
The main character of the game is Edward Kenway (Matt Ryan), a Welsh privateer-turned-pirate and eventual member of the Assassin Order; father of Haytham Kenway, and grandfather of Ratonhnhaké:ton (Connor), the two playable characters of Assassin’s Creed III.
The game will be available via download on PS4 and PS3 from February 18 in North America and February 19 in Europe, with a PC version on the way on February 25. The fact it’s standalone means you won’t need to buy Black Flag in order to play it, and both versions will cost $14.99, according to IGN.
System requirements for PC version are:
CPU:Â Â Intel Core2Quad Q8400 @ 2.6 GHz or AMD Athlon II X4 620 @ 2.6 GHz
RAM: Â Â 2 GB
OS: Â Â Windows Vista SP or Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8 (both 32/64bit versions)
Video Card: Â Â Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 or AMD Radeon HD 4870 (512MB VRAM with shader Model 4.0 or higher)
Free Disk Space:Â Â Â 30 GB
