Islamabad: A committee formed by the government on Tuesday has refused to meet with the committee formed by Taliban as the government needed some clarifications after the withdrawal of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI-F) Mufti Kifayatullah.
According to media reports, coordinator of the government committee, Irfan Siddique informed Maulana Sami ul Haq with the decision.
Irfan Siddique has said that the government committee has taken an unanimous decision not to meet today with the Taliban committee as they needed some explanations.
Siddique said that the government committee wanted to know the status of the Taliban committee after the withdrawal of Imran Khan and Mufti Kifayatullah, will Taliban include more members in the committee or not.
Siddique said that the government committee also wanted to be familiar with that the Taliban committee whether they were in touch with the Taliban leadership or not.
