Islamabad: Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI-S) chief Maulana Sami ul Haq on Monday said that Pakistan needed some serious efforts to maintain peace in the country and dialogue was the only way to do this.
He was talking to media after a meeting of Taliban proposed committee comprising of Maulana Sami ul Haq, Jamaat-e-Islami leader Professor Ibrahim and Imam of Lal Masjid Maulana Abdul Aziz.
Sami ul Haq said that he knew that there were some powers in the country who wanted to sabotage the dialogue process and latest bomb blast attack in Peshawar also a conspiracy to disturb the peace making process.
He said that during the meeting, the members of the committee contacted with the Tehreek-e-Taliban leader Qari Shakeel and informed him with the latest developments.
I am really hopeful for a positive decision by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran khan regarding to become part of Taliban proposed committee and he has the golden chance to play vital role in peace making process, he added.
He further said that Mufti Qifayat Ullah could not take part in the today’s meeting but he will be available for next meeting which will be held in one or two day.
On a querry, JI leader Professor Ibrahim said that it was not an issue that we have powers or not, but the main issue was to make sure peace which has now become a torment for the country.
