LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Complaint Cell has taken a notice of an acid attack on a woman by her husband for giving birth to a daughter in Jahanian area of Punjab.
According to local media, the cell took notice of a news report which stated that a man threw acid on his wife for giving birth to a daughter in Jinnah Colony. “The district and sessions judge Khanewal has been directed to look into the matter and submit a detailed report.”
The victim got severe burns and was shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) in a critical condition while the accused managed to escape.
Police registered a case and started investigations.
