NEW DELHI: Indian Union minister Shashi Tharoor wrote a letter to country’s home minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Sunday offering his complete cooperation in the investigation of his wife, Sunanda Pushkar’s death.
The 52-year-old minister reportedly stated that he was “horrified to read the reckless speculation rampant” in the media.

“In the midst of my mourning, I have finally had a chance to catch up with the media reports and am horrified to read the reckless speculation rampant there. I am appealing to you to issue instructions to the relevant authorities to expedite their investigation and come to a rapid conclusion so that the truth emerges at the earliest,” the Minister of State for HRD said.
52-year-old Pushkar was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a luxurious hotel in Delhi, a after tweets suggesting Tharoor’s extra-marital with a Pakistani journalist went on Twitter.
Soon after, Tharoor and Pushkar declared that they were “happily married”.
The Union Minister is likely to be questioned about the death on Monday.
Meanwhile, the post-mortem report can be expected in the next two to three days, doctors have said.
