Lahore: Punjab government has issued a notification to hold Basant festival at Changa Manga forest in Lahore from February 21 till March 5.
Punjab government has directed the authorities not to allow kite flying activities anywhere else.
The government said that strict action would be taken against the culprits for violating the laws.
The government also said that it would provide thread to the people for flying the kites.
Muslim League(N) leader Hamza Shahbaz had hinted the lifting of ban on Basant during the inauguration of Punjab Youth Festival last month.
Kite flying has been banned in the province for the past four years due to tragic incidents because of using chemical threads.
