ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan ‘s Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has directed the security agencies for ensuring security arrangements on Chehlum, the fortieth day after martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan chaired a high-level meeting on Sunday and gave directions to Islamabad Administration and Police for ensuring foolproof security arrangements on the occasion of the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
The Minister said that intelligence agencies and civil armed forces are providing full support to the provinces. He directed aerial surveillance of sensitive areas for ensuring peace on the occasion.
He said wherever required, the armed forces should be kept on alert. He said that any act of violence would be dealt with an iron hand.
The meeting also reviewed the working of various departments working under the Ministry of Interior including Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration, Police, FIA and Immigration & Passports.
The Minister directed Director Generals of FIA and Passports as well as Chief Commissioner and IGP Islamabad to give a sense of security to the people and ensure better service delivery.
The Minister said that it is the duty of law enforcement agencies to provide complete security to the people and directed better coordination between provinces and the Capital in this regard.
The Minister directed the IGP to ensure increased vigilance in all parts of the Federal Capital and said that a Rapid Response Force would be formed for Islamabad and Rawalpindi, which would also have the support of Rangers.
