ISLAMABAD: The US Secretary of Defence, Chuck Hagel, has met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad during his official visit to Pakistan on Monday.
PM Nawaz Sharif and US Secretary of Defence Chuck Hagel have discussed bilateral relations and regional situations as well as the matters of common interests during the meeting.
On the event, PM Sharif have expressed severe reservations over the US drone strikes carried out in the Pakistani territory.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif‚ Finance Minister Ishaq Dar‚ Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi were also present on the occasion.
Hagel also discussed withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan in next year and accepted the role of Pakistan in Afghan reconciliation process.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif answered that the Pakistan wants to strengthen relations with the United States in all sectors and the country would continue to play its role for peace and stability in Afghanistan.
