PORT ELIZABETH: Pakistan has defeated South Africa in second one-day international by one run here at Port Elizabeth.
Ahmed Shehzad’s third ODI hundred led Pakistan to a one-run win in Port Elizabeth and a maiden series win against South Africa on Wednesday.
Pakistan bowlers also did a great job to defend the total, specially Saeed Ajmal and Junaid Khan’s last over got lot of appreciation from critics.
“I am very disappointed on losing the game despite it was in our pocket” PakistanTribe.com reported quoting South African skipper after defeat in 2nd one-day international against green shirts.
 Pakistani pacer Junaid Khan took three wickets against 42 runs in his spell.
Host team fail to win the game even Hashim Amla’s 98 and AB deVilliers’s 74.
Junaid Khan defended nine runs off the final over to ensure Pakistan secured a first ever bilateral ODI series win over South Africa. In a rain-reduced affair, which was curtailed to 45-overs a side, Ahmed Shehzad’s century provided Pakistan with a challenging total.
South Africa, playing their 500th ODI, looked well set to chase it down courtesy Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers, but the pressure got the better of them once again and they fell one run short.
After defeating South Africa in the ODI series, Pakistan becomes first Asian team to win against proteas in their home series.
