ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s intelligence agencies have issued reports indicating uprise of sectarian strifes in the Punjab province during the month of Muharram, local newspaper reported.
The Pakistani intelligence reports claimed that sectarian dissension would be created by the Indian intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), via provision of secret funds amongst banned organisations.
Intelligence sources said that two banned organisations will be funded for assailing opponents during last three days of Moharram on the dates of 8, 9 and 10th respectively, quoted by local TV channel.
The terrorists will carry out targeted attacks on Shitte gatherings, Majalis and mourning processions, as well as deceasing specific and prominent personalities in order to accomplish their ulterior motives.
It should be mentioned that 10th of Muharram, also known as Ashura, have its eminence between Sunni and Shia Muslims at once as Sunni sect observes fast for thanking the Allah (God) on Musa (Moses)’s victory over the Egyptian Pharaoh on the day.
On the other hand, Shia Muslims do so to replicate the sufferings of Hazrat Hussein ibn Ali on the Day of Ashura, also called the Mourning of Muharram amongst Shittes.
