LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Tuesday expressed his expectations of ‘rigging contest’ in next election and clarified that the political party accepted the election but not the fraud voting.
Imran Khan was addressing a press conference today in Lahore following NADRA’s detailed report which provided the evidences of large-scale vote rigging in Karachi’s constituency NA-256 during last general election 2013.
Khan said, “This kind of election cannot take democracy in the country as the type was also been conducted in dictator’s rule.” “Worst vote rigging was done in general election, could this take democracy in Pakistan?”
The PTI chief demanded the Chief Justice of Pakistan for conducting verification of election results in four constituencies.
He also demanded to take strict action against the responsible persons in vote rigging as it is necessary for betterment of the country.
Imran Khan clarified that PTI administered provincial government of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) will make arrangements for transparent polling during upcoming local bodies’ election through usage of biometric and electronic voting systems.
