ISLAMABAD: The apex court of Pakistan has annulled membership of a ruling party’s member of provincial assembly from eastern province of Punjab.
Iftikhar Ahmed was elected from PP-81 constituency of Jhang district of the province on the ticket of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz.
But a petition was filed against his eligibility for having a fake degree.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan after hearing the case against the PML-N MPA directed the Election Commission of Pakistan to disqualify Iftikhar Ahmed’s membership.
The commission would now releas a new schedule for holding polls in the constituency.
