Washington: AT&T began taking pre-orders of mini version of Samsung’s flagship device Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini.
The device will be available in AT&T stores on September 27, as AT&T sign new two year contract with South Korean technological giant.
When Samsung originally released the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, it shipped the smartphone with an older dual-core processor, a small 1,500 mAh battery and Android 4.1. AT&T is now offering the handset and Samsung has provided some upgrades to the Galaxy S3 Mini’s internals to make it more on par with current entry-level Android smartphones.
Some customers might think that the smartphone’s price is its best feature, since AT&T is selling the Galaxy S3 Mini for the very low price of $0.99 when signing a new 2-year contract.
The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini was designed to be a smaller version of the Galaxy S3, as its name implies. AT&T describes the Galaxy S3 Mini as being able to enjoy the complete Samsung Galaxy experience in a smaller size, with your favorite smartphone features, which include:
A smarter user interface complete with voice commands.
Samsung S Beam that let you share files, videos, and photos with other Galaxy devices.
Easy Mode and Samsung S Voice for a simplified user experience.
Access to AT&T 4G LTE so you can upload, download, and stream faster.
The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini features a 4-inch Super AMOLED capacitive multi-touch display with an 800Ă—480 resolution display, a pixel density of 217 pixels per inch (ppi), and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Samsung TouchWiz Nature UX. It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM to provide a snappy experience. It includes 8GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot that supports up to 64GB microSD cards.
The smartphone is also packing a 5-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus, LED flash, 4x zoom, and able to record 720p video @ 30fps, as well as a VGA front facing camera for video chat. Its wireless connectivity options include a 4G LTE radio, 4G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and NFC. The smartphone comes with a removable 2,000 mAh battery.
You can place your order for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini through AT&T’s online store for $0.99 when signing a new 2-year contract. The carrier will start selling the smartphone in its retail stores on September 27.
