LAHORE: Police officials have detained 5 suspected persons over allegation of raping five-year-old girl, reportedly named as Sumbul, in LahoreĀ on late night of Friday (today).
All detained persons were arrested over suspicion basis while further investigation have been commenced, police sources said.
Police officials have raided the Mughal Pura area of Lahore from where the suspects are hiding out from the authorities while a bike without number plate has also been recovered, sources added.
The Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif, took notice of the incident and directed the related authorities for immediate arrestment of the responsible persons.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Police said that two teams have been formed for initiation of search operation to find the culprits whileĀ Superintendent Police CIA and SP Civil Line Investigation will look after the case.

Some unidentified men on Friday raped a 5-year-old girl, then dumped her in front ofĀ the Ganga Ram hospital in Lahore, sources said.
The sources said that the girl is unconscious and her condition is quite serious, adding that the doctors had suggested an immediate surgery.
“The girl is being shifted to Children Hospital as we do not have pediatric surgery’s facility at this hospital,” a private news television quoted Dr Asif, the DMS of the Ganga Ram hospital.
