Peshawar: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Parvez Khattak claims that attitude of public servants made him feel to be their servant after a 30-year long political career.
During his speech to the officials of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Khattak claimed that the provincial government is working to bring local bodies setup that ensures to transfer 50% of the budget to the district level.
On the other hand, the village level councils, teachers, doctors, and other government employees will be appointing, replacement and termination will be implemented. CM said that political parties have been criticized because of undue influence in the local matters.
Khattak further said that lawmaking is the duty of people in the assembly rather than doing work of local bodies. He further said that those who think, I will only be involved in giving postings or transfers are highly mistaken. If I give jobs without merit, 200 people can become angry with me but if I do perform my duties according to law then the deserving candidates will ultimately come in their rightful places.
If any patwari keeps his secretary will be charged as criminal and immediate steps will be taken against both. The CM ordered that the patwaris must be present in the office from Monday onwards and those who fail to do so will be suspended immediately. He said that he has ordered district administration to provide offices to the patwaris.
Parvez Khattak further said that health reforms are being brought in hospitals all over the province. Professional administrators will be appointed whereas doctors will only look after the matters of health of the patients. The administration would be responsible for hospital management, technical facilities, discipline, cleanliness and medicine.
Khattak said that the department of excise and taxation must completely end tout system. The department must also place price lists for different services. Also latest counters must service counters will also be installed in the offices so that help would be provided to those who visit excise office for help.
Khattak also showed dissatisfaction towards the department of public health engineering and said that many discrepancies have been recorded including installation of tube wells which in actual practice doesn’t exist.
Khattak also paid a surprise visit to Peerabad police station and said “I will be satisfied by the performance of the police only if I see public satisfied”.
